We are winding down on our focus of 72 hour kits but that doesn't mean it's too late if you haven't started yet or need to add to them. It's an ongoing process. Don't forget the animals in your home and make a kit for them. Things like food, treats, water, toys, blanket or sweater,etc.) See the links to find more about different kind of kits that go from very basic to very detailed.
In April is our Neighborhood CERT Drill. More details to come.
In May, we will be focusing on water with a class from the Stake on May 26th. Water Storage Guidelines from Provident Living... Commercially bottled water in PETE (or PET) plastic containers may be purchased. Follow the container's "best if used by" dates as a rotation guideline. Avoid plastic containers that are not PETE plastic. If you choose to package water yourself, you can find additional information at www.fema.gov/plan/prepare/water or www.epa.gov/safewater/faq/emerg.html.
